Today, 1 in 4 French people is a volunteer<\/strong>. This represents more than 12.5 million people who are committed to a cause, according to figures from the latest study conducted by Recherches & Solidarit\u00e9s. These volunteers of all ages are driven by a deep desire to volunteer, without always being able to put it into words. <\/p>

The feeling of usefulness often prevails in volunteering. Being part of a community also means serving it. Particular causes touch volunteers who want to get involved, with the goal of changing things or improving them. <\/p>

Many volunteers take advantage of a moment of inactivity to be useful to society: retirement, for example, allows volunteers to devote themselves to volunteering. This is also the case for people who have lost their jobs who, instead of letting themselves get discouraged, use this time to give to others. If the cause of women in Science is the one that speaks to you the most, get involved with us towards better living together, better solidarity, and more attractive science outreach for girls. <\/p>
